For this I bless you as the ruin falls. The pains you give me are more precious than all other gains.

Alone and Forsaken by 16 Horsepower

This traditional tune has been done by everyone from Hank Williams to Social Distortion to Neil Young.  Now 16 Horsepower tries their hand at it with a more traditional sound than one would expect from Edwards and company.  Largely with emphasis on bluegrass and acoustic sounds, the only thing truly makes this rendition unique is, once again, Edwards singing.  There is always a dissonance between his singing and any of the slower tunes that 16 Horsepower does.  It seems as if his yearning is too much for the simple instrumental nature of this song.  However, that dissonance give new life to an old standard tune.
